Equine Facilitated Learning

Welcome to the herd!

Spend a few hours or a whole day getting in tune with nature and engaging with something much bigger than yourself. Connection to nature and animals has a general wholistic healing property to it because of the complete authenticity it beholds. When this component is partnered with a skilled facilitator, who will walk you or your family/relationship/team through a customized goal plan, the opportunities for new awareness and discoveries are profound.

On-Site Co-Facilitators

Located just north of Lafayette, Louisiana, our on-site EFL services and retreats are offered in-house.

“Emmy-Lou” is a nine-year-old Quarter Horse (QH)/Arabian grey mare who we rescued from an abusive environment and have spent the last 7 years happily hosting. The feisty spirit and huge heart that she brings to life in partnership with people, and the curious and meaningful connections she entrusts us with is what allows her to be such an excellent equine co-facilitator. She got her name from an old country and western singer, Emmy-Lou Harris, whose unique grace and long gray hair became signature features of her notoriety.

“Clotile” the donkey is sweet but just as stubborn and sassy. She came to us generously from another farm after bonding with Emmy during an extended boarding stay. Clotile is a fierce protector of predators when she needs to be, which makes her a great asset to the property. Even though this work is typically reserved for equine, I’ve adopted her into this EFL practice after witnessing how uniquely she connects with participants and the “take-aways” experienced.

Off-Site EFL Services

Off-site services are also available per request, which require multiple visits to your preferred site prior to the scheduled session with participants. In order to acclimate and assimilate with the provided equine partners, this added layer of preparation is necessary for assuring the most promising efficacy of your session.
